Help me out.... my two hens are getting aggressive towards each other. I have 4 hens. The highest on the pecking order is pecking one of other hens. That one is being pecked and runs away from the other one she gets scared. Is she challenging her for the top spot?? It just started today because they were fine yesterday. Any help to get an answer to stop it

How old are they? How big is your coop and run?

Even if there's a bit of fighting it's generally not an issue unless someone is getting hurt, or being consistently chased away from food/water/roosting at night.
Almost a year old. Coop and run is big enough for 4 chickens. It's not huge but they can get away from eachother. The one is being pecked..

Sometimes they need to get out of each other’s line of sight! Or have a perch to get up and out of the way.

feed. What are you feeding and how many treats? Is the one picking feathers off the other? A higher protein feed can help. Or boost their protein with a little canned fish or chicken or wet down (or break up in a blender) some dry cat food (it has more protein). Just a small increase in protein may help. Don’t replace their feed with cat food or canned meat. If giving scratch, stop for now bc some chickens get into a habit of waiting for treats instead of eating good-for-them feed.
