He's from show stock and anything I have had from show stock have been rather "soft" for want of a better word....

Maybe he's decided to swing the other way

I've had issues with show stock also.
I know when you get too far with inbreeding fertility issues are usually the first sign.
It's mother nature's way of saying knock it off.
