Sugar cookie help PLEASE

MC is right.

I rolled my Sugar Duckies out a quarter of the dough at a time. When the scraps got too soft, I put them back in with the cold dough to firm up a bit.
The recipe I used has no powdered sugar, but does have a bit of nutmeg which gives it a nice flavor.

I did chickens and turkeys. (And a dog with its tail removed so it would look like a corgi.)

I didnt like the recipe either, they seem to expand a lot more than other years cookies. (Our recipe said leave 2 inches between cookies, and it need that much room) I actually cut the dough out of the bowl with a spatula, but it does soften quickly.

All my spatula did was bend - and it's a Tupperware one!!!!

But...when you are right you are right.

I bought a chicken cookie cutter, but didn't use it.
My husband gleefully eats the heads off the Sugar Duckies and Gingerbread Geese first.

Nope that first batch was ALL wrong. The Better Homes & Gardens cookbook rocks. In the fridge for a couple hours and they rolled just fine. Nice fluffy cookies. I just ate the ugly one
