We recently had to install another roost in the coop because of our three new EEs. The only place left to put another roost was right over the food and water. I currently have a piece of styrafoam insulation over them to keep poop out, but it's not pretty and I've heard that chickens like to eat styrofoam. Does anyone have any more permanent suggestions for the covers?

It looks like you have a pretty good setup so you probably will not like my suggestion :)
If you use the buckets in a place the chickens cannot get to and route the water to Waterer cups that are on the side wall, they will take up less space and not provide a place for them to roost and avoid getting poop in the water. You can use a tube feeder for the feed like in the pic.

With the setup you have, you can make a pitched roof on the boards you have with string/rope coming up at all points to connect to the hanging rope. Bad explanation - I drew a picture with my fantastic drawing skills (sad I know)
That should give them no place to sit.

if you like to use your same set up, take an old bottle, bleach ( cleaned out good ), vinegar etc just find one wide enough, cut out bottom 1/4 and make holes for the hanging chains and slip it on top..

Put funnles on top. You can get some big ones if you look at farm stores. Got this idea from the DIY thread in the coop design section if you havent checked it out do so lots of good ideas.
