Suggestions for integrating new geese into an existing flock?

My gander was/is the best father I have ever seen in any of my animals. Not only a great dad but I think I may be getting an idea of the genders of the goslings because he seems to be teaching certain of the babies how to be a gander. It is really funny to have a gosling that can only peep still charge at you trying to hiss.
Gander kindergarden 101. lol

Yep...and I may never graduate.
That's okay we'll love you anyway and so will your geese.

I would love to see my gander take care of goslings! Sweet!

I hate to think of helpless animals left unattended while in transit.
Always ask for heat pack when ordering in cool weather and gro gel in warm weather. things can still go wrong but it really does help to pay a little more for these 2 items. Those that lost birds this year which was heart breaking because it was alot of babies left to die on docks and tarmacks because air travel was grounded and USPS does nothing but ship they don't do anything else so when travel started back up alot of folks got dead birds delivered to them.

I have not ever ordered birds through the mail I have been able to find what I wanted pretty close by thankfully You might want to check the poultry show thread and see if something like that maybe close to you there are always birds for sale at them. When I was looking for a mate for my gander well off an on for 5 yrs I was surprised how hard it was to find him a mate but finally 2 months after his 5th birthday I found him a female never did find an Embden but a friend found a Toulouse for me she was 4 months old, then last year I was blessed to finds 2 goslings at a farm in our county their last 2. and they are moving away. We're rural and quite a few farms around but not may interested in geese .

go back to your states tread and ask if there are any shows or chicken stocks coming up. swaps too.

Thank you Miss Lydia...I've had good luck ordering chicks from Murrays and chicks and gosling from Ideal, but to just order 2 goslings I might get 2 more ganders. Not what I need. Something will turn up. Thanks again!

Holderread does not sex birds. He'll only sex a pr (female & male) and will only ship 4 or more birds, nothing less. I just purchased 2 pr. of the Giant Dewlap Toulouse. You have to order early. I ordered mine in Dec. for May hatch. The 2 pr. cost me $500.00 plus $27.00 shipping. You can go to his site Holderread Waterfowl Farm. He has all the info and you'll be able to email Wanita (lovely woman) and get all the info.

I think E Fowl will send just a few bird and may have them sexed, I'm not sure. E Fowl is like a drop ship. You order and they find a breeder that will ship a few birds. I'm not that positive on that, but something to look into. LOL!!!! no I don't plan on showing. In order to have the things I love, I had to give up my car. I've been without a car for about 5 yrs now. I rent a car from Hertz. They pick me up and drive me home. I rent it for one day only and do ALL my shopping in one day. It's a bit tuff, unloading all the horse feed, poultry feed, my feed, dog and cat feed for 1 month, but the choice was mine, to keep the things I love. I just bought a 3 wheel moped. It's suppose to arrive this afternoon. That will help me get to are small town, which has everything I might need to hold me over until my big day out. It's been an experience!
