Suggestions for layer feed

I'm interested in any recommendations on a good layer feed for hens? Thanks!
What does your local store carry? (easier/usually the cheapest)
Or are you willing to mail order and have feed shipped to you? (Pricey)

It depends on what you want. Regular or Non-GMO? Organic maybe? Sometimes, if you willing to get the best, look at the feed labels. Think about it, you're eventually going to eat what's in their feed by eggs. A good rule of thumb: if there's something you can't pronounce in the label, your chickens' body probably can't pronounce it either.
Then, you'll probably be getting those ingredients too.

I have only have bad luck with one feed. It was a small no name super cheap feed. I switched to Purina and the issues cleared up. Since then I have also tried Nutrena and King (local central Ca feedmill) feed good results.

I am curious why Purina would be thought of as horrible? They aren't the high end custom option for sure, but would think of them as a solid mid range option. After trying their basic layer I went to their Omega 3 layer which my chickens seemed to do very well on.

For my layers I am currently using Nutrena hearty Hen, 18% soy free with Omega 3. The nonlaying pullets and rooster are on King brand 17% shower/grower.
