Suggestions on Chickens

I like the big fluffy breeds and find them very meek and friendly. Cochin, Brahma, Faverolles, Orpingtons.

Just one warning about Easter Eggers:

I have noticed EE's have a higher % of getting Cross Beak.
I think it may have something to do with them being mutts, cross-bred between a Arucana(correct me if I'm wrong)and another breed of any kind.

Any one with more experince with the Easter Egger breed, Correct me if I am wrong.

It seems to be that way. I don't believe it has anything to do with being 'mutts', more that the particular strain hatchery EEs are of harbours that trait.
I've also noticed a high rate of birds that lay weird eggs.

I also would go with black or brown sexlinks. They are the sweetest and friendliest chickens I own. They are also great layers of beautiful brown eggs.

Cochins don't lay very well but they are friendly. The other breeds are your average layer (about 200 a year).
