Sulfadimethoxine

I just got my chicks about a week ago, and all is good except for one that got pasty butt, but after a cleaning the chick is good. The hatchery gave me a solution of 12.5% oral sulfadimethoxine. Do I need to give this to them? Or better yet, how do I know when I need to give this to them?

Only if they get a severe case of coccidiosis which does not respond to Corid (amprolium.) It is rough on their gut.
