Sulmtalers Thread

A pretty Silver pullet that I hatched from Chickielady's eggs. She is so pretty!

Hi there, long time no see!

So I have been trying to hatch out my Sulmtaler's eggs and no success, other breeds incubated with these eggs have hatch without problems. Is there something specific in the conditions that they need different from the typical hatch?

On average, around what age do Sulmtalers completely stop laying eggs? I have a 3 year old Sulmtaler hen who didn’t lay for almost a week. Then, she layed 3 eggs back to back again. I live in Southern California, so the weather is always pretty mild.

And the ladies, of course.
Not many pics of them, somehow haha. What’s the difference in color? Rob is the lighter of the rooster colors, and we have 2 hens that are lighter and 1 that is more red.

The lacing on this breed is absoliutely stunning. I love this breed and the Alsteirers too. We decided not to have this big beautiful fluffy breed in our SoCalif humid heatwave climate -- and after losing a hen in our 122 degree summer day it confirmed our decision not to have bigger heavier birds in our flock. Looks like your birds have nice cool rainy days to play in! My birds don't have a clue what rain is LOL!
