My cockerels have began crowing and I really like the unique sound. "Hum Deedely Dum" sound.
I wonder if it will get louder? Very mellow and quiet so far. I like this breed for homesteading families.

How old? Mine is 13 weeks old and not a sound. I have a cream legbar cockerel that started crowing daily at 9 weeks old. If I could only have one breed, this would be it.

Well Candy was right, the broodies fighting over the nest have broken half the Sulm eggs I set them with. Set another half dozen + yesterday and today in the bator. Bless her heart - hen is laying every afternoon like clockwork.
Still waiting to taste the lil darlings and they still keep thier distance even at feeding time - but I've not lost a one to preds either and they are happily ranging in a calf pen and roosting in an open shed. Youngins growing like weeds too!

Did anyone ever purchase the Green Fire Farm line? Interested in hearing y'alls breeding plans for the next generation to keep genetic diversity.
