I don't know the answer to that question about wheaten versus gold-duckwing. I was told that the black dots on the gold-duckwing chicks indicates a sex-linked trait. In other words, the ones with the black spots are the males. With the wheaten variety, I think the only way to sex them is wait until the wing feathers start to appear. Not that it matters that much. People looking for Sulmtalers are probably going to want both sexes
