Sumatra Thread!

Looks like we have some Thanksgiving chicks! The runty dun hen we had with the bantams to work on bantam duns next year decided to set. We moved the bantams to a larger pen and she stayed behind. I was checking on her tonight and she has 7 little chicks, looks like at least 1 is dun, the others are black but they are still not fully fluffed out.

having a wattle and single comb I'd say yes for sure. May have some phoenix in it or something, certainly not pure sumatra, honestly other than being black, it has no characteristics of a sumatra

It doesn't look like a sumatra at all. Here's one of my blue cockerels, early July hatch.

Yes, sorry but your bird looks like mix and not a Sumatra at all

that is a mix. Sumatras do not have single combs or have white earlobs. but she is a cute little thing!

Thanks you! She was my favorite. She didn't have white earlobes though. They were a tanish gray.
