well said. The only thing I would add is "Normal" for Sumatra's is acting Pheasant like and slightly feral. Read the literature from the mid to late 1800's. That is "normal" for Sumatra's. My goal is to keep my birds more how they originally were when they were "discovered". Not turn them into something else.
yea i got a bunch of month olds... not to mention a bunch due to hatch next weekend! just a bummer that my 1st batch of sumatras is almost all gone!!! i just hope its a cockrel so i can breed it with my black hen!sorry to hear of your loss chicklette, do you have another chick about its size to put with it so it doesn't get lonely?

Just in case something like that happened. Something to think about.a heat lamp went out in my brooder lastnight... my trio of sumatras from stony's eggs is now a solo....![]()
