we talked about that one a lot on the FB page and privately, me and other breeders that is. You can tell by the tail type on it that is is a phoenix cross, with a fibro ,pea comb breed. So most likely sumatra phoenix. It's not pure either by any means. The UK has the most whites that I know of, and the most reformed ones.![]()
this is the black faced white sumatra i was talkin aboot.....
please keep me posted if you manage to get them here from across the pond! i wonder if my buddy in germany can bring some over when they PCS back to the states?!?!? how much do you think it will run a civilian to import their own "pets" back to the states?
On the imports of personal pets, it cost a lot but not as bad as poultry. They dont classify poultry as pets when it comes to bringing them over. An average egg import will cost you between $2000- $5000 by the time it's all over. And that's just for a 21 day permit. After that you have to do it all over again if you get more later on. Test on the entire breeders flock, their export permits, air cargo, import permits here, broker fees , etc etc. It doesnt take long. On actual birds it's even worse, all the same, plus a very expensive 30 day quarrentine in a USDA facility, think it's $15 a day per bird. It has to be 30 consecutive days with no signs of illness. If it sneezes, the clock starts over....
Only way I'm able to do it is I have a couple friends that have the permits and are just going to add on some eggs to their orders for me..
