Sumatra Thread!

I am ware of that. The show in Iowa is going to be a huge show. The entry fees are $25.00 per bird, but They are offering $12500.00 for best bird, the more birds entered in the show or in a class the more money you will win. The show winners will win the breeders cup and win master exhibitor points. It was in the poultry press in the December 2013 issue. It is called THE EVENT THAT CHANGES EVERY THING. It is only going to be next year so I really don't want to miss it! If I do well or ok in the open show at least I will know were I stand among some of the big time breeders. There are several down here but not a hole lot.

T his is not an APA nor a ABA national meet. It is a special meet. 5 points max for a win. Nationals are 25 points.
This show is someone's dream that may end up with 300 birds. I am well aware of this meet as I have been personally invited to participate. There will not be a lot of birds there . the idea would be great if it was located in a place that people could get to easily, but it is in the middle of nowhere.
The meet itself is not any kind of national meet.

It is hard to say how many People will be there. You don't know that for sure until you go. They are offering a hole lot of money, not like that is the only thing That I care about. But that Generally draws people in from all over the place. Not only that did you read their artical they did really good job on writing it. very Persuasive.

Fowlman, I assume you are talking about the Iowa show in 2014 (I think they called it the Masters Cup). I have read about it elsewhere and it came with very mixed reviews. I have a question on it though. It had been mentioned that this show was to find the birds that best fitted the SOP. Someone had brought up the fact that for that entry fee price and award money and bragging rights, that all birds at that show should be weighed at coop in. Do you know if this will happen?

Can anyone help me with Tom Kernan contact info, I want to purchase some birds from him and having hard time to find his contact info.

Thanks

So I was inspecting one of my roosters a few days ago and noticed a couple white tipped under feathers on the wings. There were 2 feathers on each wing that were 1/2 white. Is this normal? Is it a bad quality I should breed out? I never noticed that in the 2yrs of having this roo... Thanks!

It is a DQ-able offence. I have never had this problem so I can't help you there as to whether it can be bred out or if you just need a different rooster. I would get a different rooster, but thats me.
