i really like these since i accidently stumbled across the thread ( mixed up with serama) they are beautiful. my boys really like the look of the roosters. ( they say they look like ninja chickens.lol.. idk) what is the temperment like? im also having trouble even finding any it seems

They can be very tame if messed with, sometimes when they aren't even messed with. I have a few that insist on trying to be pets. But for the most part I leave all my birds alone, except for necessary stuff like worming, dusting and such. So they can be more flighty then other breeds when not handled. But once caught most are pretty good. I have had a few bite or scream when I catch them, but that's about it.

I got my Sumatra as a pullet, she was flighty but lots of treats and holdings turned her into a sweet heart!

a few as mostly pretty pets but I have hopes of some breeding quality birds soon.
If you aren't looking for breeder quality for show birds, you can find pet quality
with a bit of looking.

Murray McMurray has Sumatras in pet qualtiy. Sandhill Preservation has better ones. Can't swear to how much better but better.

Not sure how easy it is to get from Sandhills but I have seen
pet quality locally.
