How are all of you?

I'm very excited in 1 week, I'm getting my pair of carlisle oeg, 2 Sumatra pullets and possibly a pekin cockerel.
I'm then sending a quad of Sussex over to my dad.

I have allot of birds at the minute, i have 47 including chicks. And I'm getting more hatching eggs for one last hatch this year. When i say more hatching eggs i mean about 40, but I'm relying on the fact that once the eggs have been posted they wont all hatch. I'm getting some Sussex, legbars, Pekins and hopefully some Rir.

How are all of your fowl?

Good luck with the new birds, and with your incoming hatching eggs. Are you still planning on showing any of your birds? And you know when you are counting on not all making it, that's when they do, just because.

With the hatching eggs i want to get about 7/8 pekin and legbar chicks, and then with the sussex and Rir i would be happy with 5/4 chicks. The thing is if they all hatch ill have 89 chicken that is far too much for me, i doubt ill be that lucky or unlucky.

i cannot wait to get the pair of game, i have never in the whole 13 years ive been on this planet held a game bird, so ill get a picture with me and the birds.

Can't wait to see pictures of your new birds. 89 chickens aint too many....

. Hope you enjoy your new game pair, I guess holding a game is the same as any other chicken. The one game rooster I have only gets held by his legs (dusting) or his neck (when I am trying to remind myself not to kill him because he killed another hen, which he hasn't done since he was thrown into his own pen a few years ago).

Hope you have a good hatch with these eggs. How has your sumatra hatches been going?

Are all of your coops the same as you were building back in Jan. for your Pekins? I build all of mine tall enough to walk in, but then I keep atleast 4-6 hens and a Cock or two in each one with about a 8 foot covered run. You are doing real good for all of your years on this planet IMHO!!

Thanks, my mum loves to tell me I'm only 13 and i have my whole life ahead of me, which i understand is true, but i would love to have some better breeding stock and have a tidier set up so I'm just pushing on and getting things done.

None of my coops are big enough to walk in but i have two which can contain about 10/12 each. I'm thinking i will put the two big coops out in two rolls of electric poultry netting. Its my birthday in roughly a month so if i get money I'm going to make a big coop for all the young chicken. Ive got a plan for it and i think i can make it work it will just involve a bit of time and money. Plus we are now on our summer holidays which in Ireland are THREE months long!!!
