Summer Books! Ideas, favorites, and Recommendations?

Lovely, peaceful reads full of animals are the Stillmeadow books, by Gladys Tabor. The later ones can be a touch melancholy, so stick to the early ones if that's an issue.

If you like some light fantasy, definitely read A Hat Full of Sky by Terry Pratchet. A fun take of coming of age with a background of sheep, clever sheep dogs, wise old women and brownies

If you are into mystery, read Rita Mae Brown and Sneaky Pie Brown's books. and also her Sister Jane series, I love the bits where the animals discuss what's going on

Thank you so much!

Any other recommendations?

Reading is hard. I intended to read a lot this summer, but didn't read much at all :(
I think reading books should get easier for me with practice, but the initial difficulty is demotivating.
I also pre-ordered ordered a new edition of a cell biology textbook in June and it was supposed to arrive at the beginning of this month so I my plan was to focus on it during July, but now it looks like it won't arrive until August.

It's funny that I'm a huge fan of both Mark Twain and Jules Verne 😂

So--
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,

And also 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Journey to the Center of the Earth (these two are probably not adventure enough and too nerdy-sciencey for most) and Around the World in Eighty Days (a little more like an adventure book rather than a scientific journal)

I loved 20,000 leagues and around the world in world in 80 days. I’ll have to check out Journey to the center of the earth.

I’ve read the adventures of Tom Sawyer, but haven’t yet read the adventures of huckleberry Finn.
