Well my local hunt for a Welsh Harlequin duckling is a dead end. I really wanted to bring on a buddy for my muscovy soon. It appears WH just aren't very popular in Texas for some reason. The feed stores I talked with all order from Ideal Poultry, show doesn't have WH.
It appears my only option is to keep trying to find one regionally (willing to drive most anywhere in Texas) or order from Metzer's and try to get a feed store to buy the additional ducklings from me. . They still have shipping dates for the next 3 weeks for WH. They outline the precautions they take to keep ducklings warm during shipping and such, but do not address keeping them cool in this July heat. Is it really safe to ship ducklings to Houston in the heat of the summer??
