Sun Tea???

I love sun tea!! I have an antique 1/2 gallon mason jar with a tin lid that works awesome for the job. I use two regular size bags or one family size.
This jar was give to me by my best friends mother almost 20 years ago

I use 6 regular bags in a gallon-sized jar - but I like my tea really strong.

I don't bother to leave it in the sun, just on the counter at room temp then into the fridge when the bags are removed.

Sometimes I make it in the fridge alltogether - water in jar, bags in water, fridge overnight & Voila! ice tea!

Lately I've been microwaving a teapot of water then add teabags & let that sit out until cooled before refrigerating.

i LIVE on sun tea durring the summer. i also like my tea STRONG, so i use 10-12 reg. sized lipton tea bags and then add a few "flavored" tea bags in the 1 gallon tea jug. another thing i like to do is pick a fresh sprig of mint (we have it growing all over the place out here) and throw it in the jar as it brews.

Ooooh!
Mint!
In spite of the fact that I have a bed of spearmint encroaching on my house, I never thought to add it to my sun/fridge tea

Thanks for the reminder

You know, you don't really need a gallon jar to make a gallon of tea. You can always use something smaller and add water after it's done. That's what I do when my jar is in use already.
