I only had eyes for the single-combed Rhode Island Reds. BUT, I do think they were the next pen over. They were actually a little larger than the single combed variety, and just as dark. Bright yellow legs. The comb on the male was very, very large. I didn't get a good look at the hens in the pen.

I wish I could tell you more, but I just don't remember that much about them?? I have no idea where he could have gotten them, but I'm sure it's from up North somewhere. Rosecombed RIRs would be a VERY rare commodity in Oklahoma.

I just received my hatching eggs from Superior this morning and I'm not happy with their packing job. I have dripping egg yolk on eggs and 5 cracked and broken eggs out of 24. Terrible packing job with toilet tissue!!!!!

I had order my eggs in Dec. a doz. at a time!

Same with the Brahma Bantam eggs I ordered. Several were broken, others smeared with egg. I set the remaining ones, and after a week, none developed. Not too pleased. I couldn't recommend buying eggs--maybe chicks.
