For the most part, when a bird picks up a piece of food, they "bite" it first in the tip of their beak. Whether they're actually biting or just readjusting the food, I'll never know. The superworms may be larger, but they also require more maintenance. From my research, you need to put them into small containers (like the bead organizers, pill bottles or film canisters) individually to get them to morph. This, along with the possibility of them being dangerous to pets if you don't execute them first, is why I never ventured into raising them.
