Yes! Thank you for reminding! The Sea Gals are nearly 2 weeks old. Growing like weeds. My "surprise" chick ended up being an Australorp. All 6 chicks arrived 2 days after ship/hatch date of Feb 2. It was pretty cold so they were double boxed and had a heat pack. All arrived healthy and had very minimal pasty butt issues in their first few days. Easter egger developed a badly crossed beak and had to be culled at one week. Cfby.Com added a warning about it on the site after I mentioned my issue. Flock is now down to five: black copper marans (Sherman), Golden Comet (Twelve), Welsummer (Skittles), Australorp (Brandon), and Gold Laced Wyandotte (Blitz). The remaining Sea Gals are doing really well. Here's some pics. Supplier almost certainly was Cackle hatchery, I went into more detail in a review I wrote, it comes up in a search if you want more details.
Welsummer is shy and very pretty.
Lacing coming in on the Wyandotte
Golden Comet is one of the friendliest of the bunch.
BC Marans is large and feather legged.
Australorp is the calmest and most quiet of the bunch, very tolerant of handling.
The deceased easter egger was a hilarious, spunky little thing with green legs and fluffy cheeks. I'm going to try again with a chick from the feed store this week.
That's the crew!
