Hi, I am a newby and I got goslings about 3 weeks ago. The boy is tufted roman and it's obvious, but the girl's feathers are coming in gray or brownish, so, hum, what kind is she? They looked the same when they were really little, except her beak and legs where darker, but she has no tuft and Ideal said mistakes are made, so any thoughts? Let me know if these pics aren't good enough! jennifer

Yep, white goslings will have darker down feathers, especially the females. It looks like you may have a boy and a girl.

It looks like an American Buff. Maybe you can get closer pics of the new feathers coming in Buffs are wonderful to have around to.

Am I supposed to be able to hear the gosling breath? Or can she have a cold? She acts ok, but I've always been able to hear her and not her brother (cousin-whatever he is-friend), it's like she has a piece of grass stuck in there somewhere??? But this has always been the case....? jennifer

I thought the same thing about the breathing in my goslings. I thought for sure the first time I heard one breathing weird like they do that he had pneumonia. Mine range in age from 6 to 7 weeks now and the youngest one still breathes like that when he's getting sleeping
