Suprise suprise...I need guidence!

I never relized that you could use pillow stuffing until I had a couple of females loose on the floor in my rabbit house ( it's an old trailer house) and I had some bags of stuffing in the storage room. I went in to change the fuse and just about stepped on the pile of stuffing when I saw it move, scared me until I uncovered a bunch of little babies. It's good to know that you can use that stuff because it gets so cold here durning the winter.

Don't worry about feeding that little guy, he's getting more than enough! I had a doe that had a single kit once, jut one in the entire litter, and that little bunny was so well fed that I worried she wouldn't be able to walk! Rabbits only nurse once, maybe twice, a day because in the wild that reduces the chances of a predator finding them on the nest and killing the entire litter. Congrats on the surprise addition!

Morning update....pudge is still doing well this morning. Went in to check on them and he's laying belly up >i dont think he can lay any other way< and snoozin away. I just have to figure out how and where to house 2 rabbits seperately now. Guess I should start on the "tractor" for 1 of them and just rotate them out every other day or something. It's clear I can't keep them together any more.

Ok I posted a pic of mama bunny and baby...daddy bunny looks exactly like mama bunny which until this point has made it very hard to tell who we were calling what name. CLEARLY the one in my bathroom right now is Amanda and the one still enjoying the fresh air in the hutch is Marley. BUT they are both white with points like a siamese cat, little pudge looks to be a silverish with darker points. Any idea if this little one is going to stay silverish or should i fully expect it to look like the parents? Like I've said, i've never had a brand new bunny before..always several weeks old when I got them. I feel soooooo very stupid on this whole subject

Heather,

If the are brother and sister it looks like you have Californian Rabbits (the kind I raise), mom seems to be pure blood. The baby will look like mom and dad. Sometimes Californian kits can silver if they get chilled, but it will fade as they get older and get their Californian coloring.

It's about 84degrees In the bathroom and mama was panting earlier. I have a towel and that spiffy wool hat in there so I don't think the lil booger has caught a chill. We always called this coloring "siamese" for obvious reasons, but havent a clue as to their breed name. The parents look identical. I think I have a picture of them....this was the day I got them although you can't see both faces, they are identical
