Glad you were able to give them a new home! What a bizarre story, let us know if you ever find out where they came from. Do you live near a highway? I wonder if they were escapees on route somewhere? Beautiful chickens anyway!

Hi Spruce,
Just normal town roads here and it's a very small town. The main road is a country lane single carriageway. A lot of tractors etc come here as it's good soil for crops and full of fields. Our house backs onto fields which go on for miles. It's very odd!!!
I've asked people that have lived here for years and people that have chicken farms and no one knows anything! It is bizarre, not just one stray chicken but a week later another appears

my family and friends now ask when the pigs and cows are going to turn up!!
 
Just an update to say both chickens are doing great. The little black one which was poorly now seems much more lively and gaining some weight and isn't hunched up anymore. I keep trying to get a pic but she isn't photogenic and I usually end up with a pic of her bum! Elsa loves the camera though and poses a lot
