I think a heat lamp over mama is too much. She provides the heat for the little ones.

Also, most definitely, if you put her back into "population" make sure that there is no way that the other hens can get to the babies. They will peck them, and possibly kill them.

k moved the heat lamp up more and we saw a pip on another egg so number 2 hopefully soon

ok here are the two that we have so far!! the other two eggs don't have pips, but we are going to give it one more day for them. there isn't a bad odor coming from them, so maybe they are still good. I would hate to through them out and they are still alive.

Aaawwww!!! I think somewhere I read on here that they can hatch from 21 to 25 days...maybe give it more than just 1 more day????

But those little peepers are Soooo cute!!

they stay tucked under momma's wings, sometimes you'll see a yellow but hanging out or a little head out from under her feathers. it's so cute and I am so excited to have chickies again!! gotta stop and get chick feed today
