Surprise chick in shipment

Its okay obviously I must have made a few people angry after seeing all the deleted posts. All I really wanted to know was what other breeds have the same combs as the wyandottes. I have been reading on this site for a really really long time and it took forever for me to actually get brave enough to post anything. I'll just go back to reading from now on but thanks anyway.

I don't see how you could possibly have made anyone angry!

I have no idea why anyone would post something that needed edited/deleted in regard to your question, but that's their problem not yours.

I don't have an answer for you, because I'm not experienced enough to know the answer (and apparently those who are want pictures) but please don't let a few edited posts stop you from posting!

Actually, I also have a 'mystery' chick I'm hoping to have others help me identify once I get a good picture of it.

I agree. I have no idea why there would be an issue with your question. It's totally valid. What hatchery did you order from? There are a few that will throw in a free straight run or even pullet chick with your order-as a little gift. No charge. Can you get a picture up on the thread? Look in the 'search' box above and type something in like 'posting pictures'. Follow a guide and when you get a picture up you'll get much more help. IDing chicks with only a description can be hard...

Don't be afraid to ask questions. That's why we're here. If others are allowed to get help than so are you. G'luck!

Hi there. It looks like you didn't make anyone upset. When reading through here, it looks like someone replied to you and that actual reply was edited/deleted. Nothing to do with you.

It took me forever to join, too. I got a nasty reply from someone on one of my few questions I had the nerve to ask, but it ended up that everybody else was wonderful, helpful and actually stuck up for me. Just my opinion, ask freely anything you want! You've got me curious about your pullet. Do you have any clue as to what you think it is? I'm new to chickens so don't have any idea, but love learning. Cheers to you and your new babies!

Could you check the hatchery's website and look at pics. of their chicks? Or call, describe it and ask them to help you out..
Some hatcheries have limited birds and it can be just a process of elimination while others like Murray Mc Murrary have several...... good luck..

Thank you all for taking your time to reply. I should have thought about buying a camera before I asked this question but I never intended for it to be that big of a deal. After reading I realize that the little bird is just a packing peanut. The order came from Ideal. It really does not matter what she is I will love her just the same and for those of you actually as curious as me....I will do my best to find a pic and figure out what she is and post that.

In
case you haven't discovered these, there are gobs of pics in these sites. Maybe you can browse and identify it that way. (I don't own a camera, either; never have.)

There are 20,000+ people here; there's bound to be a few who are having a bad day. And some of us, like me, simply stick our foot in our mouth on occasion! All in all, though, I think most people here are nice folks who are interested and willing to help if they can. As others said, I see nothing in your posts that should have angered or offended anyone. So post away and don't worry about the occasional bump in the road.

I found my bird in the first link you listed. She looks identical to the Silver Penciled Wyandotte. LOL but Ideal does not offer those. Someone has lied somewhere but I don't care she is soooo pretty!! Thank you all for helping me. I know that it has to be frustrating with the people that want you all to be psychic and know what their bird is without a pic.

Here's hoping hubby will buy me a camera.
