Surprise Markings

This is one of the 4 we hatched in May. He's 1/4 Dominique and 3/4 Black Aussie. I own both parents and know the woman who bred my rooster, Dom-BA cross, so I was surprised when my daughter told me Alf had red showing on his wings. I've recently heard there were red Doms, so it makes me wonder if King carries that mutation or if it's just a fluke. Anyway this is his first baby and I'm interested in what y'all think.

This one is a rooster, the only one out of the 4 chicks. I'll get my daughter to take a picture of him today. At this point, a close-up is the only way to see his red

I think they kinda have that mark on them if they are roosters! I have a mix and he has that color on him as well.

It is red leakage, not uncommon in mixed colors.

It caught us off guard since neither breed is really known to carry red, but it is fun. I need to get a pic of all 4. He has one sister that is out of my ee hen and is solid blue\dk lavender. I had expected barring with her too but didn't get any. That would have been something to see.
