My little old broody gal has been sitting just about all summer. I didn't realize my old roo had lost his "stuff" and let her try with what I thought were fertile eggs. No go.

A while back I received some little eggs and stuck a few under her since she wouldn't quit setting.

I went out today like I do everyday to set her down to eat and poo--BTW, extremely yucky!

I saw a broken shell and then a little tiny yellow furry sweetheart!! I'm so excited that this little momma has finally got a little baby!

It has a little vault and 5 toes!!
If its yellow now, does that mean it may be white as an adult?

I'll try to get a better pic later.

Just had to share!

Got another pic--

I know its only been a short time but seems as if we have been trying for silkies forever.

My white silkies were yellow when they were born. Very cute!

A Polish?? oh, dear, where did that come from?

I received a nice batch of eggs from this person. I think maybe she did have some polish!

The legs and feet are yellow and she does have 5 toes.

A polish!!! My DD is going to flip out!

Forgot to ask---Do Polish have feathered legs??

My white silkie was white as a baby, and had the black skin and legs.

I forgot about that black skin. I don't think she has black skin. So then she is probably a polish? How exciting.

I can see DD now trying to "do its hair".

Thats the only reason I asked...

My white silkies are sometimes "creamy" in color, but never that yellow, and even as babies their black skin and dark beaks are definitely noticeable.
