Surprise, surprise! Need confirmation on a genetics question.

The dad is IB split to white- Would love purple, but thats not possible is it?

Genes for Purple and for White are located at different places in the DNA, so your male could be split to both White and Purple.
 
Isn't true that some recessive genes from the same parents can skip generations. Say, that this single chick could have inherited a recessive gene from one of the grand parent birds. It seems logical when you are talking about hybrid birds to begin with. Too bad more didn't hatch from this clutch.
