Surrogate mother

Has anyone ever used a Silkie as a surrogate mother? Like if you would buy chicks and put them with the Silkie do you think she would tend to them or hurt them?

I have a hen that will take anything but shes the only one I've seen do it .Unless she is setting already or has chicks the same color and age.You can try it ,just keep a close eye on them for a couple of hours .Most want.

Unless your silkie is broody and has been on eggs for a while she is most likely ging to kill new chick shoved under her out of the blue.
