((I didn't see that there was a response, sorry.

Mystery nuzzled Dixie lovingly. "Good morning," he replied, smiling. The sun's rays were beginning to peer over the buildings into the junkyard outside the den, and noting that with a sigh, Mystery nodded. "Breakfast sounds good to me. How about you guys?" he asked, crouching down at level with the pups.

"Spr... Sssspr... Sprize?" Minty was trying to copy Raven's correction, but it seemed too much of a challenge for her. Hearing her father, she bobbled over, leaping into his face so that she was laying over the top of his head. "Okay, daddy! Then we get the spur-prise?" She giggled as Mystery lifted his head up, causing her to slide down his back and to the floor. "Wee!"

"You sure do, Minty," he replied. "Alright, then, I'll go see what the pack has gathered so far today." Mystery, feeling hungry at the mention of food, nodded to Dixie and headed out of the den.

"Me too!" squeaked Minty, following him closely behind and batting at his tail as he walked.

((Today, the weather can't decide if it's going to be rainy or sunny, so I might randomly disappear if it gets too cloudy.

(Oh, lol! It's fine. And, we're under a tornado watch so

that we don't get any, though that doesn't sound like it's going to be the case!

Dixie sat down and yawned. She chuckled at Minty's attempt to pronounce "surprise" and watched as the little she-pup draped herself like a dishtowel over Mystery's head. She nodded a response to his statement.

"Me too!" Raven squealed, racing after Mystery and Minty as fast as she could. Tripping over something, perhaps her own big paws, she went sprawling, chin first, into the stone floor of the den. Leaping to her feet with so much energy that it made Dixie tired just watching her, she raced after the pair and caught up with them. While Minty swatted at Mystery's tail, Raven prepared to bite Minty's.

Jade plopped down on the floor beside Dixie and said, "Malmy..." in his gurgly puppy voice. Dixie looked down at him in surprise. "That's right! 'Mommy'," she whispered, nudging him affectionately.

(Your posts with the puppies have me laughing and squealing! They're just soooo cute, OMIGOSH!)

((Oh, geez, I hope everything calms down over there! :fl I'm absolutely terrified of storms, so I can imagine how you're feeling. D: ))

Mystery rolled his eyes as he felt Minty's paws bat his tail occasionally, though he pretended not to notice as he carefully climbed the short distance down the junk pile to ground level. The Chroma pack dogs were starting to emerge, with dogs sitting here and there as they waited for Cerise to assign them their duties for the day. As Mystery and his daughters walked along, dogs here and there offered greetings to the pups as they spoke amongst themselves.

Mystery stopped at the small den that was at the very bottom of the junk pile where excess food was stashed to be eaten later. Because of the terrain, much of the food was scraps of garbage and other things scavenged, though there was an occasional pigeon or rat caught in the alleys of the city. Mystery eyed the pile closely, ignoring as Mint ran into the back of his leg because she was not paying attention.

"Oof!" the pup gasped, though she easily shook it off. She trotted around Mystery to the opening of the food den, sniffing hungrily before looking up at her father. "When I'm all grown up, I'mma be a hunter, and you and momma will always have lots to eat!" she said in a rather matter-of-fact tone.

"Oh yeah?" Mystery replied, though he was not really listening to the pup, his mind focused on finding something that the family could share to eat.

"Yeah. Or maybe I'll be a sentry like you and momma," Mint continued, though her attention was slowly moving elsewhere.

As she did, Mystery's gaze fell on a paper bag, the likes of which usually contained burgers, fries, and other such things. Score! He picked it up and looked to Mint and Raven. "Let's get back to the den so we can eat," he said through the paper bag, nudging the girls in the right direction.

(Yeah, me too! D: I'll keep you posted, unless I disappear. If I vanish, it means I've probably made a run for the storm shelter!)

Raven sat down and held her head high. "Well, you can be a hunter or a sentry," she said in a proud voice. "I'm going to be the eta female!" Raven did not realize that she had left the "b" out of her "beta" and was looking quite proud of herself at the moment. Hopping to her feet, she ran circles around Mystery, then scooted forwards as Mystery's nose nudged her back towards the dens.

"Oh yeah?" Minty shot back at her sister, walking along as Mystery nudged her. "Well maybe I'll be the affla female!" She giggled at the thought, looking up toward the Alpha den just as Cerise came out.

Cerise's voice hit Mystery's ears, but he knew she would understand his hurry to get the pups home. Scaling the junk pile again, he gave one last nudge to Minty, though he hardly needed to as the pup went running into the den. Shaking his head, he looked to Raven. "In you go, sweetie. We'll have breakfast, and then we'll go get that surprise I've been telling you about." He smiled, though with the paper bag in his mouth it didn't have as much of an effect on his expression.

Minty came running into the den and skidded to a halt, just before barreling into her mother. "Momma! Momma! Me and Raven are gonna be the affla and eta!" she squeaked excitedly, bouncing on her paws.

Raven skittered into the den and ran up beside Minty, giving her an indignant expression. "Hey, I was gonna tell her!" she wailed. "Yeah, I'm gonna be the eta!"

Dixie looked, confused, down at her two she-pups... Affla and eta? What in the w...? Her brows rose as she realized the pups meant Alpha and Beta. With a chuckle, she rubbed the two on their heads and said, "Oh, do you mean 'Alpha' and 'Beta'?"

Raven looked at her with a questioning expression, then shook her head. "No, no, it's 'eta' and 'Affla', silly mommy!" she said with a giggle. Dixie sighed and shook her head, suppressing a chuckle. Looking at Mystery, she smiled. "So, what'd you get?" she asked.

Taz had an uncomfortable feeling that something was watching them.... And unfriendly pair of eyes, that would make you scream if you saw them in the depths of the night. He crawled out of the pond, and glanced around, but there seemed to be nothing watching them. He shuddered uncomfortably.
Ella clambered out and looked at him. "Hey, what's wrong?" she asked, her brow furrowed in confusion, hanging low over her eyes.

A shadow passed over Taz's face. "I don't know. I feel like something's watching us..." he muttered darkly, the fur on his shoulders rising. His lip curled, revealing his sharp, white fangs.

"Come, we will be safer in the den," he said finally, his voice comforting. He nuzzled her cheek, reminding her that he would protect her and their future pups with his life.
