Sophie crouched down and stalked a squirrel next to a tree. She stopped when it's small black eyes looked at where she was. "I've got you now..." She thought to herself. She crept closer and closer... Suddenly, Pounce! Sophie bit the squirrels neck with her jaw and carried it in her mouth. Then, she headed back to her pack.

Rex sniffed the air. "Something doesn't smell right; a storm's blowing in. We'd better get back to the den. Ursa, you can stay here or come back to the dens." He said. Then he whirled to face Melanie. "We should get back to the dens; a storm's coming, and a mighty big un' from the scent of the wind."

Something about Rex's body language said that he knew something horrible was coming.
Melanie's ears fell. Her pelt shuddered with a creepy sensation at the sound of her mate's voice. She stared at him for a minute, then turned and started back.

(*GASP!* What's gonna' happen?!)

((Wait, a real storm or a figurative storm? ))

The winds picked up, whipping about at the dogs fur, and flinging sand and dirt about and pelting their fur with small rocks picked up by the gusts. The water in the Koi Pond began to ripple, then wave, until it was splashing up out of the pond. The fish swam to the bottom of the pond, and the sky turned dark with heavy slate gray clouds that threatened to pour rain.

Rex began to run, ordering elanie to do so, too.

(Just wait and see...)

(Real storm...)

As Sophie was heading toward the den she felt a strong cold breeze. She looked up with the prey in her mouth. Clouds were getting darker and darker and they were heading for the den. Sophie sprinted trying hard not to drop the prey. Drops of rain started to pour on her and the wind was almost blowing her away.

Taj looked up as the wind hit his sides with enough force that he nearly stumbled. He dropped the fish momentarily, looking to Sylver. "Looks like we finished just in time, Sylv! We gotta run for it!" he barked. Then, he swept the fish back up in his jaws and began to run back toward where the dens were, keeping at a relatively slow pace so that he could be sure Sylver was keeping up.

"You all get back and tucked in. I'll stay out here just in case; we can't go unprotected," said Ursa. The large dog hunkered down beside a tree at the border to better support herself in the gusting wind, her long dreads of fur and hanging jowls blowing back. "Be safe."
