Rex smiled. "I can tell you aren't one of them; you don't have the blackness in your heart or stench of evil about you. You are welcome to stay here as long as you want." He said, leaving Jane to wonder what a Jargoan was.
Jane watched him. She snuck a hesitant glance at Melanie, then looked at back Rex. "Um, sir." She began, "I-I, well, first of all, I'd like to know who you are, where I am, and where I may go?" She asked, her voice soft.

Faith quickly entered the den behind Sylver, taking a seat near the entrance and watching outside silently. After a while, she looked to Taj and Sylver. "So," she began suspiciously, "what were you two up to?" Her eyes were on Sylver, an almost critical look on her face, but her expression softened when she noticed how scared Sylver appeared to be.

"We were fishing, Fay. Here," Taj replied, not picking up on Faith's judgmental looks. He picked up the fish and tossed it to her feet. "See?"

Faith eyed the fish. Ugh! Every time she told Taj to do something useful, this is what happened--he caught a fish to have an excuse to go swimming. And fish was terrible on top of it all! Her nose wrinkled in disgust as she looked across the den at Taj. "I see," she replied, shaking her head disapprovingly.
Sylver caught Faith's expression, and shrunk father into the shadows. She glanced between the two dogs, her heart pumping wildly inside.

Jargo watched the storm, his heart pounding double-time in his chest. Tornado! a voice in his head howled. "I know...!" Jargo growled back to himself. He turned to Harli, his face grim, his eyes wide.
Harli's eyes snapped open as a thundering boom erupted through the air. "Jargo!" She cried, hugging her pups closer.

He smiled at the mention of the old dog. "He's an ornery one sometimes, ain't he? But I think he can make it. I just don't want anyone hurt. Is there anything I can do?"
"Just wait and watch. If we're lucky, the storm will pass us." Endigo replied, never taking his eyes off the wind whipping about outside. Already, the Koi Pond had filled with rain and overflowed. Fish who were dumb enough to swim to the top now flopped about on the bank, stranded int he gravel. Water was no longer pooling in puddles; instead, a nice, deep layer had formed on the grass, and was steadily rising, up the church den's steps. Soon enough, it would begin to seep into the church, and, possibly, flood.

Sylver caught Faith's expression, and shrunk father into the shadows. She glanced between the two dogs, her heart pumping wildly inside.

Harli's eyes snapped open as a thundering boom erupted through the air. "Jargo!" She cried, hugging her pups closer.
Jargo rushed to her side, whispering soothingly. "It's okay; it'll be okay."

Jane watched him. She snuck a hesitant glance at Melanie, then looked at back Rex. "Um, sir." She began, "I-I, well, first of all, I'd like to know who you are, where I am, and where I may go?" She asked, her voice soft.
"I---" Rex took a dominant stance, putting his weight on his front legs, and puffing out his chest, looking big and intimidating---"am the Alpha of this pack, Willow Pack!" he grinned. "If you join this pack, you have the automatic permission to go wherever you wish within the pack boundries."

Sylver caught Faith's expression, and shrunk father into the shadows. She glanced between the two dogs, her heart pumping wildly inside.
Suddenly, a ball of red and white fur, screaming like a banshee, scrambled into the den, and ran into a little corner, where it huddled, whimpering and crying in big sobs.

He became alarmed at the rising water. "Should I put something in front of the door to keep it from flooding the den?"
"No use; it will flood, one way or another. The only thing we can do is hope it doesn't." Endigo sounded like a beat dog. Any wise Alpha knew he couldn't fight a storm and win. He looked at Stone; "You can't fight nature, buddy. It'll always win." and he returned his grim gaze to the winswept, flooded lanscape.
