Saffron took the lead instinctively and began padding along in her floating gait. She glanced back at Mantis and smiled; she figured he might be sweet on the girl. "Well, how long's she been in that den like that?" she asked calmly as she walked.

Saffron took the lead instinctively and began padding along in her floating gait. She glanced back at Mantis and smiled; she figured he might be sweet on the girl. "Well, how long's she been in that den like that?" she asked calmly as she walked.

Mantis followed her, his normally brooding personality stifled by his concern for this she-dog. He looked to Saffron, an almost sheepish look on his face as if he was embarrassed by the answer. "Well... Not as long as Dixie has been in Chroma pack, but longer than Russet has been wounded," he explained, not completely sure of the exact amount of time.

Ebony trotted into Tarro's den, alerted by the sound of pitiful whimpering. She looked around, and started back to the scene that met her eyes. Ginger, drenched in her own blood, lay in a corner, still bleeding freely. She uttered a scream of horror, rushing to her sister's side. "GINGER!" She cried, tears already streaming down her cheeks. Ginger made no move to reply, only lay limp with blood loss, clearly fighting for her life. Ebony began to sob, licking her sister's wounds. "Ginger, please, answer me... PLEASE!" she wailed, nosing the scarlet red dog in a desperate attempt to help her.

Ebony threw back her head, calling for help. "Please!!!! ANYONE!" She wailed, shaking with fear. Ginger let out a small whine, and opened her eyes... barely. "Ebony.... stop.... it's.... okay...." Ebony whimpered, shaking her head. "No, Ginger, it's not! WHO DID THIS TO YOU?!" She howled, narrowing her eyes. Ginger shook her head slightly, "It... doesn't matter...." she whispered, her voice growing smaller and smaller with each word. "YES IT DOES! I'LL GET THEM FOR THIS!!" Ebony retorted, baring her teeth. She looked Ginger in the eyes and snarled, "Tell me, who did this." her voice was deep, and low, displaying the anger inside. Ginger closed her eyes--frightening Ebony almost the death, for fear she had died--and then spoke in a tiny whisper. "Tarro." she wheezed.

"Later? Why must you challenge him?" Ruby asked, cocking her head.

"Sure..." Everest rolled his eyes, then fixed her with a murderous glare. "If you are to be my alpha female, you must NEVER turn down a fight." he snarled, then blew out a sigh. "Oh well, I'll just have to lead a bunch of untrustworthy dogs. No biggie." he shrugged, clearly disappointed.

(I wasn't planning on having them actually fight, just to find Melanie, since I haven't RPed with her in ages. If that's what you meant..)

Rowan sighed. "Because I have to ask my father what to do, first." he finally said.

Almaz snarled. "You forget that I am an Alpha Female, with or without you!" she spat. "These are my dogs that I rallied!"

"Your father? Is he the alpha?" Ruby asked, raising a brow.

"Alright, alright." Everest chuckled, then changed the subject. "So, does your land have dens?"

Almaz nodded, then swung a paw in the direction of her dens, a tabe of stone sectioned off to create multiple dens. "Right there," she said.
