Dixie glanced at the sun; it was still fairly high in the sky, showing that it was around noon. "Um, yeah, I have a few minutes." she said with a wag of her tail. "So, Mystery, what do you want to do, now?" she asked, her brown eyes sparkling with joy. For once, she was finally truly happy. She was, after all, finally free from her guilt!
Quote: "That sounds great; I think my sore old bones could stand for that," she joked, tail wagging widely in circles. She looked at Mystery, then gingerly got to her feet. "Shall we go?" she asked, waiting to take a step in the direction that she wanted to go. A walk was just right for the moment, as it would bring her away from the other dogs and give her and him a few moments away from the pack.
Quote: "Taz, look," Ella said. She dropped the item she was carrying: it was a McDonald's box with a burger, half eaten, inside.
Taz looked at her with shining eyes. "Thanks, let's share!" he yipped, the morning sun shining brightly on his dark, long, brown fur.
Ella smiled and bit half the burger off. "Sure," she said, clearly famished.
Taz looked at her dreamily. Bending at his elbows, he knelt down, and gulped down whatever was left for him. He licked the taste from his whiskers, and gazed ahead at the gray, hard pavement. He was lost in the land of his thoughts: They swirled around him like mist, but he couldn't quite grasp any of them.
Ella smiled. "What're you looking about?" she asked shyly.
"Hmm? Oh yeah, memories," he replied quickly, shrugging off the feeling of being an outcast.
"Oh..." Ella said quietly with a soft sigh.
Taz smiled, and looked at her with his dark, warm, brown eyes. He reached over with his muzzle, and licked her lovingly.

"So, the pups should be coming soon," she said excitedly.
Saffron nodded, but she knew nothing of Dixie. The mention of a wounded alerted her. "Who's wounded?" she said in surprise, looking around.
