Saffron smiled at his gentleness and said, "You can stay if you like, just don't interrupt or get in my way." That said, she began making poultice's out of the herbs she'd gotten. Horsetail and Goldenrod poultices were slathered smoothly over the wounds, and a few juniper berries sat, not too far away.

Mantis exhaled with relief, standing back as the medical dog went to work He watched with worry as the wounded she-dog winced here and there, feeling stinging pain on some of the wounds as poultice was applied. Still, the stinging faded soon enough and was replaced by well-needed numbness where before there was just soreness. Her eyes moved around slowly, and a relieved smile crossed her maw, her gaze finally stopping on Saffron thankfully.

Celeste stopped in his tracks, blushing as he realized that he was likely intruding on a few private moments between two lovers. "Oh, man, sorry," he stammered, embarrassed. "But, uh, I'll just say what I was gonna say and get outta your way," he said. "Me and the other guys wanted to invite you to a guy-and-girl Alley Party." he concluded with a hopeful smile. Dixie smiled, despite her slight annoyance at the interruption. "Well, an Alley Part certainly sounds fun!" she exclaimed, looking up at Mystery.

Mystery raised a brow. Alley party? He had never heard of such a thing! Still, he agreed with Dixie--it did sound like fun! "Sure, Celeste, me and my girl will make an appearance," he said in his usual joking tone, nodding.

Saffron couldn't help but manage a smile. "Don't worry, honey: I haven't lost a patient, yet." she said gently, stroking the dog's head gently, small paw. "Everything's going to be okay..."

The she-dog clearly wanted to say something, opening her maw to do so, though the only sound that she could manage was a small croak-like noise. Her brow furrowed, she just looked up at Saffron, hopping that her gratefulness was evident in her expression.

Mantis timidly padded back over, his head low as he looked from the she-dog to Saffron. "Thank you, Saffron," he said, sounding as relieved as the wounded she-dog now looked.

Celeste nodded. "Okay, cool! Me and the guys," he said, gesturing to his companions, "are coming, as well as a few others." That said, he turned with a quick, "See ya, bro!" and vanished to invite other dogs.

Dixie turned to Mystery and smiled. "That sounds like fun, huh?" she said, now stalling for time as she realized how scared she was to ask him what she wanted to, now.

"Sure does," Mystery replied, grinning. "And there'll be lots of pretty ladies there, too," he added, though he was clearly joking as usual. He laughed a bit at himself, then fell quiet again, content with the world as it was. "...It's nice here," he commented quietly, unsure of what else to say. Nothing needed to be said, he realized, his mind at ease.

Quote: Dixie openly laughed at his joke, as she knew already that Mystery was hers and she was his... That was it! Just thinking of that fact, she finally got the courage up to ask. Hoping she wasn't being pushy by almost immediately asking this question, she finally said, "Mystery... Would you, by chance... Want pups?" She stared down at her paws as she asked this, afraid to meet his gaze, for fear that he might be angered or even offended by the question, odd as that seemed for lovable old Mystery.

"P-Pups?" sputtered Mystery, somewhat surprised by the question. He shifted a bit, a little uncomfortable with the idea. "...I don't know, Dixie," he said carefully, his gaze moving from his paws to Dixie, and then of into space. "I mean... I-It's a little... soon..." He obviously had no valid reason to say no, but he wasn't sure about the whole idea. Pups--and even more alarming, Mystery as a father! His eyes widened in something like horror at that thought, though he tried to hide the fact from Dixie by looking away from her.
