"Please. My pup, Melanie, is in that den." She motioned with her tail. "Is there anything you can get for her to eat? We haven't eaten in 2 days."

Rex looked at Layla. "You know that Jargo could kill me for doing that?" Rex asked, afraid. He didn't want to let this beautiful dog down, but he definitely didn't want to wind up in Banner's situation.
Finally, his strange desire to please Layla won out. "Alright." he said, reluctantly. "I'l try..."

Layla's heart burst. "Oh thank you!" She yipped quietly, her tail wagging madly.
Banner watched, he also felt a strong desire to help Layla, but knew if Jargo found out, he'd kill Rex. "I'll go with you." He said quietly.
