"No, Banner! No...! I won't let you do that!" Rex snarled. "If I have to use force to make you stay put, I will!" Rex looked at his friend; his only friend. His eyes softened, and his tone quieted. "My friend," he said, "I don't want to lose you. I'm strong enough to fend Jargo off, but you... you're not."

Banner waved him away. "Your not strong enough to fight Jargo and Harli. I'm not either. But your stronger, and deserve to live. I'm sickly, and weak. I'd be happy to give my life for you." He smiled at Rex.

Layla's eyes widened. "No. I've made up my mind. You two aren't doing anything. I can't let you get killed. You aren't like the rest of them. I'll go."

Rex sighed. "Fine..." he growled. "But, if you get killed, I'm gonna have to save you." He winked at Banner. "Now... let's go hunting!" He disregarded what Layla said, and rushed past her, into the packlands, to find food.

Banner ran behind Rex, tucked his head, and charged, trying to head butt him.
Layla watched the two handsome dogs go. "Oh man... what did I get them into?" She whimpered, and laid down.
Harli sprawled out on the den floor. "It's so boring when you have to wait." She complained.
