Surviving Minnesota!

Ahhh Ralphie - what is happening with Judy? Are you converting her slowly, methodically, using her nursing instincts to do it? It started last winter during hatchings and she obviously has been thinking about ways to save those 'heat shrunk' chicks.

And admit it plllleeeeaaaase - I did get first place this morning by a hair. You were still combing yours!

I don't think it could be 'old timers' when you write so poetically on your chicken threads.

I personally believe-- for women anyways when the placenta leaves the body after childbirth it draws with it brain cells in some fashion and we all know they cannot be reproduced. Mothers become forgetful, will leave car keys in places unknown, will put the whites in the dishwasher, and try to determine where the delicate cycle is for 5 minutes or more, forget where your parked at Walmart-- that's a killer right there--. And you can blame it on lack of sleep but then through the years getting three people ready in the morning instead if one may be a factor. Making sure there's lunch money, everybody has brushed the barnacles off their teeth, basketball socks and shoes are packed, etc, etc...

I don't know why us mothers are forgetful really.

I actually jumped on to find out what happened yesterday with my fellow chickeners and noticed I was FIRST. I very quickly posted and you will note - no ramblings - so I could be before Ralphie who was undoubtedly reading while I posted having no clue I was lurking.

So when does this getting older stuff start? I do remember (of course) the beginning - just the BIG SLAP! WAM! There it is! I tell these things so those that come after might remember (?) and say "Ohhhhh, this is what they were talking about."

Yes! Yes! you are YOUNGER (by QUITE a bit) and you do understand! Oh God Bless YOU - truly!

My sister got her birds a couple weeks ago and may be joining soon. She does a little social media but not a whole lot. She mentioned something this weekend that she "should get on BYC." She is my favorite sister. A chicken newbie. When she writes me emails I absolutely love them- she writes with lots of soul and nostalgia. Her writing is fun to read. I hope she comes on-- sorta. Means I'd have to behave though. And I think I tell you guys things I don't always tell others.

Good morning Ralphie and Ivie. I did not realize there were morning competitions.

Oh yeah. As soon as I climb from the bed I must head to the computer and Surviving Minnesota to see if Ralphie is at it yet. Its a rare moment and morning when he is not sitting there with his cup of and gazing at the computer for responses to his first greetings. This makes life worthwhile. Making it to the computer before Ralphie who was undoubtedly combing the hairs he still has OR pouring that cup of. Not true but if you think it is then it can be.

Goodmorning lvie, Ralph and BC!
