Surviving Minnesota!

Erli: Ralphie sold me a PC cockerel. I don't know how much yet. But I suspect it will be just under the price of my first born. Or a 6 pack of Mikes. Not sure. all valuable stuff.
The idea of a gorgeous EE does tempt me as well. But I understand that progeny of our boy Ed may be just what I'm looking for. Sweet disposition and highly effective keeping an eye on the skies. Plus the shimmery green tail gets me all the time. Partridge coloring for camouflaging up in the woods.... He might be a no brainer for my set up. Although I do like the idea of just running down to Brainerd to pick up a bird. Do you have pictures Erli of how they're coming along for coloring and such? Was their Dad a horse's behind?

We were at the baseball game and some friends of ours ...new to chickening...were trying to sell me ISA brown cockerels or Gold Comet cockerels. All I could think about is frozen combs. I smiled and said, " oh they sound nice."

Haha, I wonder what your plans for a gosling would be?

So pea combs then.

I never met the parents actually. I got the eggs from a friends sister, both parents are EE's. I will try and get current pics today- they don't stand still ( unless hawks fly over)

I would be even closer than Brainerd to you!! and you are welcome to come over and see them!!

Oh you guys! Either way I can hardly wait for a new Roo. Even the teenagers and DH have asked when the replacement is happening. But DH stressed we should wait to see what happens with the chicks. He's mentioned it several times. Although the way those tails and dispositions look...I think I lucked out with little pullets.

2 Rhubarb - Strawberry pies
2 Rhubarb loaves of bread
1 Mixed berry (blueberries, strawberries, rhubarb) crisp
and a very messy oven (I am glad I made the pies last)

and what do I find?
