Surviving Minnesota!

never buy sushi from the grocery store in a town that obviously doesn't even know what sushi is.......my California rolls tasted like hard dry tasteless rice

my ONLY regret from leaving the big city of Delavan WI....ha ha...it's not really big but it had the BEST sushi bar EVER!

I worry about your safety. If you pass away from bad sushi, can I have your coop?

Erli: I'm so sorry about Edna. That Sour Crop business has ALWAYS scared me. ***Knock on wood*** I haven't had it in the flock. Although I've had a few gluttonous birds. or I've seen others pull a long blade of grass out of a mouth/throat. Thank goodness for timing of good helpful flock mates. I think it's luck or timing. What a tough way to lose a bird. That's for sure.

Oh I'm so distracted here at work...I really want to go hang out at the coop / yard and get my chicken projects a going.

I need to paint. And the other night I couldn't sleep and brainstormed about how to fix up my nesting boxes in the coop to give me better out door access. The top lid is rotting underneath the shingles and it's always so heavy. I'm going to make smaller drop down doors I think that will allow for easier clean outs and use gravity to help open the door. I've thought of insulating those nesting areas as well to help reduce cracked eggs. But it may just be my silver bubble wrap to get that job done. I don't like the idea of lining the boxes with that stuff though. I like keeping it homey looking in the nest boxes. It's the girls' private time in those boxes. LOL. You know what I mean. They sit in there and reflect, lay their little gifts to me. I want everything zen for them. Not ....silver Bubble wrap.

Ralphie, I don't know that anyone other than you or I know where Adolph is. Did you happen to notice the new building being constructed next to Stokke's market and gas stop? It might well be a place you would stop into at some time, as they will surely be selling Mike's Hard Lemonade there.

I have not had much to write lately, so I just read the posts and go on my way.

The self given shot to prevent anaphylactic shock is administered with what is known as an Epipen. It is interesting to see one used, and I am glad I have no allergies which cause need for one.

Last year when we went to the Proctor Shoot we stopped in there for Potty break and junkfood fortification. They had some meat rubs with questionable moral labels. I should have bought a bunch for gifts.

BC, that little store in Adolph has a reputation for meat of very high quality. They make their own beef jerky, and it is top shelf!

Siggie, I would expect that you indulge in much fresh Walleye sushi where you are located. I am not a big fan of sushi, as tasty cuisine I feel it is vastly overrated. Lemon pepper Walleye is much better.

Hi everyone! I found wifi lol!

Ralph I see u have trained Lucky well! He is hard core anti-waterfowl! He chases them all over!! Lol well I am leaving and wont have internet again for awhile so TTYL!

Oh Ralphie I would dig a hole and throw those taters in, they just might grow something and you can't leave them on the kitchen counter forever!

Wanna bet?? It has gotten to be a competition with Judy. I think she is waiting to see how long they will sit there before I throw them out. I am waiting to see how long I can leave them for before she throws it out.

BTW....BC When your kids do leave you will experience the empty nest syndrome. We had it for a long time compared to most people. I think ours lasted 12 1/2 minutes or so. Now Grandkids are a different animal! Them I miss in about 2 minutes after they leave or we leave them.

LOL. Last year I put alot of stuff stored in the garage on the highway out front. It was gone within a couple hours. One BIG item was a duncan fife table with two drop leaves and two leaves to extend it and four matching chairs. It was always my 'intention' to paint it and recover the chairs. When would I do that? I let it go. I still have a hard maple table that is 30 x 48 with the end pull out leaves. I WILL NOT LET THAT GO!!!! Memories are attached to that. Oh my, so much stuff.
