Oh Man Sleepy. They are gorgeous Birds. We are sentimentals here--heavy on the mental--and sought out a barnyard mutt cockerel, that's offspring of my previous rooster. I'm going to be kicking myself this winter when I'm tending to his single comb. Nonetheless he's a sweety right now and I'm glad we have him. yay Junior.
P.S. I still love your quote on the bottom, "I just want to drink coffee, raise chickens and take naps." Amen.
Ivie: it's fun to hear you tried the creamed cucumbers. It's pretty simple. I like taking the flavored cream and putting that on top of the mashed potatoes and gravy too. MMMM...Did you do a roast beef dinner with it? When cucumbers are gone this fall and winter give the cabbage a try too... It was a staple in our house growing up.
We're going camping this weekend and I've packed 3 cucumbers and some whipping cream and vinegar. woot!
Made Broccoli cheese soup and man did that taste amazing tonight. Felt like soup with the rain...
For Halibut we do the broiled fish with a topping of Mayo, Parmaesan, Lemon and Garlic. Halibut is such a delicious fish. That and Mahi Mahi.... Mmmm.
Tucked everybody in the coop tonight. All the teenagers on the floor in my nest boxes.....
Pooping....
Those older hens are mean B's. They are crossing feet upon feet of roost space to be bullies.
