Surviving Minnesota!

Okay I posted a better link in the same post. Sorry Ralphie. The story should take you to KARE 11. They are actually just updating their own website with the full story now...not just the trailer.

Fun.

Hello! I am from WAY up Nort! Near Thief River Falls. We just started with chickens this Spring. We have 25 Bovans and 3 Bovan roosters 12 mixed barnyard breeds. 4 laying hens then a straight run of 8 chicks almost 12 wks old. 26 chicks all straight runs of silver and gold Wyandotte, Black Australorps, Barred Plymouth rocks, cuckoo maran, Dominique, Buff Orpingtons, and Rhode Island Reds all 2.5 wks old.

Welcome to the Minnesota Thread Momof3plustwins. We want to see more pictures of that gorgeous coop I see in your profile picture! And plus the birds. I love Wyandottes and all the breeds you have...I'll just admit. LOL.

You sound busy with your Profile name and all that chicken Math you have going on. Mom of twins here too...but not plus 3. Whew...

It took me where it was suppose to I just had no idea who Boy Huber (or whatever his name is) was. I never watch news on TV anymore I get mine online, or go without. I am blissfully uninformed.

I should have said welcome too, I was bad.. I am bad a lot..

I like your variety of birds. I lived way up there near TRF for 9 full months way back when. I went to school there when the schools were new. I attended a school for a career I did not want after all. I did find the winds there could match North Dakota and snow flakes could feel like mosquitoes when walking into the wind. It took 10 minutes to walk into the wind towards the schools and 3 minutes with the winds at your back to go back to the apartments...

Pictures and early posting are a requirement of this thread. I need reading material and things to look at with my morning coffee(s)...

I am going to move the bad tree today, I hope..

I hung some CD discs and am going to hang more in a vain attempt to keep the BoP at bay.

I have been pulling roosters out of my Layer coop that do not belong there. I took two out yesterday. A young BA I was sure was a hen, that decided to crow and chase a hen. And "A Son Of Ed, Grandson of Ole" I had one EE/CLB cross in with Ed for a while this spring, When I was attempting to get the Olive eggs. Most of the birds are a super cross. They almost look like pure PC's with a darker head but they have a slight discoloration on the back of the legs. Well, this rooster looks like a pheasant with a cushion comb. (Okay, I have to squint to see the pheasant in him....)

But he is a beauty. really.

Good morning everyone!
Welcome Momof3plustwins!

First day of school and a volleyball game here I come!!
Took care of the birds, they got a little treat of some mealworms that I bought yesterday! They weren't to sure at first but they liked them!
Sometime in the next few days I have to consign a few roosters, maybe a hen or two, and the chicks to the New Salem Sale.
I'm hoping to get at least $4 for Iggy, and at least $3 a piece for the chicks.
400

The birds enjoying some mealworms.

And now I'm off to the shower and pack my bags for school and vb

Helped a friend shuck a truckload of corn yesterday and cut it off the cobs and bagged it for freezing.

What is BoP?
