Right now I have PLENTY roosters 2 Bucketes, 2 mutts, 1 Lucky, 1 adult mutt and whatever is in these batches of chicks! Which it looks like there is two roosters and two pulleys in the batch of four. One of the EE's is sired by my Buckeye rooster and is looking an awful lot like a pullet. Got a long tail and lots of feathers in already while two that are cockerels have little to no feathers.

Looks like you need a Blue eggs gene rooster, I happen to have:









Cushion comb and all. About 50% chance he will carry blue!

I have to be honest though, I am betting he has a olive green gene, his sisters lay huge olive green eggs. He looks nothing like his sisters. He is half CLB half PC.

He is a beautiful rooster but he is in the pen of no return right now.

I have lots of other "beautiful" roosters if you need another one. A mean one is never worth keeping around.

I have been fortifying a chicken pen today . I had a coon break in and kill a bunch . Ralphie they got the pea comb Legbar .

Hopefully a trap and a good hun take care of him. Or better yet a her

This is usually caused by squash vine borers . For the other problem of small size check fertility . Could need some fertilizer . Butternut squash makes a good pie . It is in the Cucabrita Moschata group as is the Dickinson pumpkin that the canning factories use

I have Zucchini that is borer resistant . My own creation . I can share seeds if any of you are interested .

Thanks for the heads up on the problems I might be having. I will fertilize this fall and look into the vine borer. Sorry to hear you had a coon get some of your birds!!

@ejb3810 I am going to follow up on the lead you gave me months ago with NERC and waterfowl processing. Do you know who I contact or what I say? Wondering if there is a specific part/department or person that I would contact or just try any general number I find? Thanks

@holm25 I think the actions you describe from your rooster makes him a absolute for sure candidate for supper. Some decisions are made a heck of a lot easier by the animals behavior.

Well, we sent Norman over to the BILs to hang out with his Jersey for a while. Hoping things go well for him.

Got the barn set up so the pigs can be in the pasture and be able to get back into a section that the feeder calf we have can't get into their food. Should work now I think. I need them both to beef up not just have the cow eat the pigs feed all the time!

Long day and now expecting a slight thunderstorm. Just what we need MORE RAIN. super frustrating. We have a very large section of yard in front of the house that fills with water quickly. I have named it "Poo Pond" Whenever it rains the ducks are in that until it dries. Clearly the right name for that body of water. Been water in that more than not this year. GROSS!!

Thanks for all the info everybody! I can't trim his Spurs because there is nothing to trim! They r not even half an inch long and they r still pencil erasers. He is just WAY to rough with the hens. I love Lucky but he is being naughty lately. He attacks EVERYTHING! Except for humans... He learned not to mess with them awhile back. But he's a bit of a killer. He grabs young birds and runs around with them like they r food. I just need to make some decisions... I can't run a naughty rooster farm but I also said I would take good care of him and give him a chance at life...

My advice on a bird that rough is to get rid of him, he will do more damage than good and he could be just as useful as dinner for your family. It sounds like he is digging them with his feet then and that is just as bad on the girls.

Jerry, I feel for you. I had a heck of a time with them this year too. Now I found more footprints in the granary and moved a trap in there to maybe get another one. They should be getting good and fat about now for my neighbor to take.
I hope you get them cleaned out and don't lose any more birds.
