Surviving Minnesota!

If I remember correctly, the chick color for Porcelain is a creamy with silver highlights in the fluff. How old are the chicks now? You probably already know, you can't judge even a juvie who is 3 months by their color because they still have a couple of molts then before getting their mature plumage.
They are only about a month old. I know I have to wait for final coloring but was just wondering if anyone else ever raised this color and how soon I could expect speckles or if they should have them right away.
While I have no experience with porcelian color I do know it is Millie with self blue gene added . Self blue being recessive . So a cross to Millie will give you Millie with 1 copy of the recessive .
Thanks
My computer needed a doctor so its been gone for two days. This is the best picture of spider that I have taken thus far. Those are orange legs and that yellow / black part is the body. Sometimes it looks lime green. I have looked and not found anything yet. But then I haven't had the computer for two days. I think those other spider pictures scared the hard drive and it was hiding.
I think its a black and yellow garden spider. They usually don't have orange legs but it might have just molted and the color will change. .....Do I sound like I know what I'm talking about? Fooled ya.....just read it on the internet. ;)

Wow, you had me, I thought you were some kind of Spider expert for 4 seconds..

I have a chicken question.

A person I sold chicks to a few months back is saying a couple of the chicks (now 8 weeks old are becoming paralyzed. Anyone have an idea what could do that?

She says they eat and drink and all but their legs do not work..

BC,  I have some very bad news for you.  As a professional Chicken Wrangler I was forced to take many classes in Chicken Psychology.  A bird that stands out in the open and taunts an eagle is not being brave or protective. He is wanting to get out of his unbearable living situation.   Sometimes something as simple as having an owner that is constantly comparing him to a past bird can do it.  The bird feels hopeless and decides to commit suicide.

The official term for this type of suicide is " Suicide by Eagle".    I hope this helps you.  BTW it is not always the bird owners fault the chicken is clinically depressed. 3 percent of the time it is the fault of the hens he lives with..

I hope this helps you.

Ralphie I find it hard to argue with chicken wrangler who's taken chicken psychology classes. But I think the boy is in love with the Illini. Pure and simple. He trails them all day. Steps in front of them to show them his beautiful duckwing and straggly neck feathers with a patch missing in the back. When he capes out he looks like a pin cushion. The boys gets more treats and coos and giggles from food lady' and her kids. I'm not sure what else to do to give him that extra boost of self worth?
