Surviving Minnesota!

My parents said that they will butcher the roosters and we'll go to the auction with the coop instead.
My dad might let me get some chicks for over the winter

he mentioned it today as I was getting on the bus, now I have to find a hatchery that has White Leghorns and Buff Rocks. Next spring I'm getting some Whiting True Blues and BCMs

A shotgun takes less aiming..

That is what I used . It is hard to explain but yes I missed with the shotgun or at least a no kill . I may have peppered it . I can hit rabbits on the run more instinct I guess . I once took 5 shots at a squirrel in a bare tree before he fell out . I seldom try squirrels since the eye went bad . Something about shooting in trees with this eye .

Congrats on Junior's proud stand. Always nice to hear about local boys doing good! We could use a stalwart roo like Junior ourselves. We live in the migratory path near Hawk's Ridge (aptly named) at the Western tip of Lake Superior. Migration season starts shortly.

Watch the skies!:/

Hey MooseMtnFthills. Glad you found us! How's it going up there? Buff orpingtons and barred rocks right? A pretty flock....

You answered this all wrong, you should have said you were using a 22 with iron sights on it. Now we have to conclude your a bad shot, the other way we would just think " wow, he gives them a sporting chance with a open sight 22." Or better yet said you were shooting at them with a 2 inch 22 pistol!
