Surviving Minnesota!

BC I am not any type of rodent enthusiast. They are all a pest and nuisance of some sort in my book.

I think of Ralphie now each time I see a puff ball, and this year there has been many of them. I infrequently step on one to see if it is white on the inside and so far they have all been so. I must say I have not been the least tempted to slice one up and sauté it in butter. Those black things in the above post by Ralphie do not look to be fit for human consumption?

If anyone is shipping birds I would suggest using SpeeDee delivery. They charge less and the birds get delivered faster than by USPS.

Erli what kind of Orange Pop are you drinking? Henry's did Ralphie say? I'll have to Google. I love Orange Pop. But it has like 56 grams of sugar in it. It's like drinking maple syrup.

I think it was Henry's Hard orange? I should have looked at the ingredients but I didn't. Although it didn't taste overly sweet.

I have to agree it did not taste syrupy sweet. I do know 3 of them will make me want to sit in a chair for the evening/night and order a pizza instead of cooking. I am a light weight with my age and all...

EJB I called speedy to send a bird to Southern Mo. It must be in the middle of no where speedy does not go there and I could not find a place cheaper than $80. Speedy did tell me they will take chicks but they will no longer but them in the front, where it is heated, they will ride in the back regardless of the weather.. I was not pleased with that for a Feb/Mar shipment.

I looked it up and it says cane sugar so that's good.

You don't look that old, you retired early.

I did, stress takes it toll, I am only 27. most people can not believe stress caused me to age so much, so fast.

I am more concerned about the C3H6O content than the sugar.

Also I forgot to take Bertha's measurements.

And I learned yesterday that Amy has a sister that is just as mean as she is..In case any of you wanted to know these things.

And maybe if EJB gets enough Chipmunks he can tan the hides and Ivie can sew Bertha a cHipper apron.

I don't think it was any more than a Mike's.

My Amy? Amy and her sis in the freezer Amy?

It looks like someone had an egg for a snack! My big Brahma girls always smash those darn eggs and everyone eats the broke ones!

I forgot to post pics of the hen and her saddle! I will try for tonight! She is doing great! No limp anymore but not healing as fast as my turkey hen! I have her on a higher protein feed and water with electrolytes.

Again thanks for the saddles Lvie! That are VERY nice!

So it was just yesterday I upped the protein, added Omega 3 and Oyster Shell. Also started changing out their water daily and adding electrolytes. Today I got a green egg! Yea! Regina laid her first egg! Go Regina - Go Regina.

Then I just read an article that says that feather eating indicates the need for more protein. I thought some feather eating was normal. Not. So I bet that stops also.

Pretty happy here. Catching Chipmunks and have skinned a couple today Ralphie. They are in the process of drying but these saddles cost $5,000. Are you sure you want them or a freebie?
