Surviving Minnesota!

I had a little boy! It's amazing how such a small human can keep me so busy all day and night. He's pooping in this picture, by the way. I thought you'd appreciate that!

He is ADORABLE...congrats!!!!

Interesting about the pelvic bones. Sounds like what mike wAs doing.

Have any of you watched 'the Ranch' on Netflix? It's pretty funny. Ashton Kutcher, Sam Elliott, Debra Winger. Some good relatable stuff.... Lol...getting in a few episodes now.
The Ranch???? Netflix....wish I could watch it but we have limited internet because of where we live, we have to have cellular wifi Sam Elliott is my fav!!!!!

Be careful, a pack of coyotes can kill a dog. I've heard they will even lure them in then kill them.

Yes, yes, quite right...

Haven't heard them around me for a while now....with 4 dogs, we rarely ever see any wildlife around the homestead. Plus when we pick up dog poop, my husband dumps it around the perimeter of the pasture. I tell myself this is helping keep predators away but who knows?

Good morning all! Here is a fun conversation starter for today - how old is your oldest chicken?? To start, my Big Buck (buckeye rooster) is 5 this fall! And I have two white leghorns that are 4.
Mine are babies yet...only 6 months old

I call my Cochin rooster Big Blue. The other Barred Rock Rooster is still acting traumatized (Saw his gang of bully roosters get picked off one at a time last weekend) so I don't know if I should name him just yet?

Ok time to tell on myself before I start work . Yesterday on the roof when the sun warmed the synthetic tar paper it got slippery . Surprising how fast a old man can stick his heel in a gutter to stop the slide .

I then went barefoot for better traction .

yes, after the age of 50 we don't bounce so easy anymore and when we do it hurts a lot longer! (speaking from experience)

Ralphie....don't blame you for raising APA colors. I think you would do well at shows with your turkeys. I sure hate Ethel is gone....but what about Snitch? Sounded like that bird wanted to be your little buddy! I bet you could convert the Snitcher into a Lapper in no time! Judy could sit outside in the sun with a Lapper to keep her cozy! And yes....R2elk is rolling his eyes!! And you know my two hens are spoiled rotten, but such fun pets. But its much easier with just the two girls.

Ya'll...was never so glad to see 85 degrees as I was last night!! Its been so warm in Memphis, just wasn't ready for the cold weather yet. Spent the whole time wearing my jacket. Got home in time to change into shorts and flip flops and spend time with my girls before bedtime.

Snitch is a blue a nice looking young blue, I think he/she will become a lapper with ease. Yesterday all the poults were out doing their thing and Snitch was following me around or in the pen by him'herself.

Snitch is a tad small, so I think it could be a she. I plan to move them before long.

Don;t worry about R2Elk rolling his eyes at the thought of a lapper. EJB is sitting near Duluth right now salivating at the chance to come down here and snuggle, hug and kiss a turkey.

Did you tell EJB about the folks over on the turkey thread that let their turkeys sleep in bed with them at night?

Well I will have to tell him about this little blackmail scheme of yours and then I can reply to this. Is Judy well enough for a party night?

I am not sure. She went with me Friday and Saturday and by Saturday Night I was worried she was headed to the ER. She cannot take the exertion IMHO. She was enjoying talking with Minnie, but I could see her getting paler and paler and more fatigued as the time went on. So mush so I wanted to leave the banquet and take her home, BUT her being a stubborn Polish/Norwegian hybrid it is impossible to reason with her.

I am glad our kids have some Swede in them to mellow the negative effects of being Norwegian.
